Elena Hart, MD, is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician specializing in Functional Medicine. She received her medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by a completion of residency from LSU Health Sciences in New Orleans, and she is a member of Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Hart has recently joined Carolina Total Wellness and has extensive training in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. Prior to joining Carolina Total Wellness, she was practicing as a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and managed many patients with various conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, muscles, joints, as well as individuals with chronic conditions like autoimmune disease, cancer and metabolic disorders. At that time, she discovered that she wanted to provide her patients with additional tools in treating their condition by addressing root causes.
Dr. Hart's goal is to uncover the root cause of her patients' health issues using a personalized approach while providing a comprehensive treatment plan along with compassionate care to create an optimal state of health. She believes that the conventional medicine training that she received combined with functional medicine will provide the best outcomes for her patients. She is excited to bring her training and knowledge to Carolina Total Wellness.
