Shane Hemphill, MD, is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and has been practicing medicine for 15 years. After completing his undergraduate degree in Biology from The University of Michigan, he completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the American University of the Caribbean and his residency from Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He practiced outpatient and hospitalist medicine in Florida and then moved to North Carolina to join UNC/Rex as the Medical Director of UNC Primary Care of Cary. Most recently he has worked UNC Family Medicine in Holly Springs.
Since starting his career in medicine, he has looked to treat the root cause of any issue. Supporting this ideal, he took several courses at A4M (American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine) then later transitioned to The Institute of Functional Medicine for which he has completed his certification examination. Rather than band-aiding symptoms or dispensing a medication, he strives to empower his patients by giving them the knowledge and tools necessary to produce continued improvement in their health.
Dr. Hemphill is excited to join Carolina Total Wellness bringing his love for nutrition, wellness, and compassion for each individual patient as if they were part of his family.
